Introduction to ‘DQN’
Morphic, an AI technology developer and production studio, is set to produce its inaugural episodic anime series titled ‘DQN’. This project is spearheaded by acclaimed anime creator Kushagra Kushwaha, in collaboration with his Tokyo-based studio, 4861.
Creators Fund and Commitments
In addition to the production of ‘DQN’, Morphic has pledged $1 million to a new creators fund. This initiative aims to support emerging filmmakers, fostering the development of live-action and animated features, shorts, games, comics, and manga.
The Vision Behind ‘DQN’
Originating from India and now based in Tokyo, Kushwaha is celebrated for his work on various notable projects, including Netflix’s JoJo’s Stone Ocean and the streaming adaptations of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. ‘DQN’ is situated in a futuristic cyberpunk environment dominated by decentralized networks and artificial intelligence. The narrative follows a group of twelve individuals in a tense race to discover the secrets of a concealed vault that possesses the potential to “rewrite the rules of power.”
Commitment to Innovative Filmmaking
Jaynti Kanani, the former CEO and founder of the blockchain firm Polygon, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Kush is an exceptionally gifted filmmaker with an incredibly deep understanding of anime as an art form and I couldn’t be more proud to make ‘DQN’ our first anime series.” He emphasized Morphic’s dedication to empowering filmmakers by providing them with cutting-edge technology.
Collaboration and Future Goals
Kushwaha echoed Kanani’s sentiments, expressing his enthusiasm for leveraging advanced technology to broaden the storytelling reach of anime. “I’m thrilled to be working with JD and the Morphic team, who are using AI to democratize this genre, accelerate its speed to market and help a new generation of artists fulfill their most ambitious creative ideas,” he stated.
